1.    In the practical section of Ephesians, Paul uses the imagery of walking to make key points about what it looks like to follow God.

a.    Ephesians 4:1 …walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called…

b.    Ephesians 4:7 …you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do…

c.    Ephesians 5:2 …walk in love…

d.    Ephesians 5:8 Walk as children of light…

e.    Ephesians 5:15 Look carefully how you walk…

2.    Paul provides practical examples of what walking in in a manner worthy of the calling looks like.

3.    This morning, I want to begin a short series to see what it looks like to walk the walk, not just talk the talk.

II.            Walking in Love with God

A.  Keep His

1.    If we love God, we will be to His teachings.

a.    John 14:15

b.    1 John 2:3

c.    2 John 1:6

2.    Some of the commandments God gives us are easy, and some are challenging, but they are all good.

3.    We should keep His commandments not just because obedience is something God demands but also because we know that those commandments have been given to us because He us.

B.  His Son

1.    If we love God, we will strive to become more like every day.

a.    Ephesians 5:1-2

b.    Paul goes further by reminding us of a statement Jesus makes in John 13:34-35.

2.    Loving one another includes the things we talked about earlier, but it also includes behaving like Jesus in moments when we might act otherwise.

3.    Jesus was:

a.    – angry, cried, cared (Ephesians 4:26)

b.    and Forgiving- (Ephesians 4:32)

c.    – (Ephesians 4:15,25)

4.    Loving God means becoming like His Son.

C.  His Message

1.    It is evident that God does not want His message to remain a ; He wants it to be . (Ephesians 3:7-13)

2.    All of us have influence in this world. Do we use that influence to introduce people to Jesus?
