When in Doubt

Sunday Morning, April 13, 2025

Daniel 3:13–18

Introduction

A.          No matter how much time and effort you may spend preparing for a test or a game, there are times you may doubt the fundamentals you know so well.

B.          What are we to do when doubts like this arise when our faith is put to the test?

Discussion

I.           We all admire the faith of Shadrack, Meshack, and Abednego.

A.           It was not their that they found themselves in exile.

B.           It was only because of their to God that they found themselves in trouble with King Nebuchadnezzar.

C.           Even though they didn’t know how this would all play out, they were resolved to God instead of the king.

II.          When in doubt, know that you are not .

A.           Abraham struggled with about how God would fulfill His promises (Gen. 15:1–3; 16:2; cf. Rom. 8:18–21).

B.           Moses was a man of great faith, but he struggled with uncertainty as well (Ex. 4:13; 5:22–23).

C.           Gideon didn’t feel that God could use him to deliver Israel (Jdg. 6:13) and asked for signs (6:17, 36–40).

D.           Peter wrestled with at times (Matt. 14:31), but his faith became strong (Acts 4:19–20; 5:29).

E.            Even John struggled with uncertainty about Jesus (Matt. 11:2–3).

III.         What is a Christian to do when doubts arise?

A.           When in doubt, don’t stop in God (John 14:1).

B.           When in doubt, for His assistance (Mark 9:14–29).

C.           When in doubt, your with others (Gal. 6:2).

D.           Don’t God when you need Him most (John 6:60–69).

Conclusion

When in doubt, don’t hide your struggles from God. Instead, bring your struggles to Him. He will help you every time.
